Is it really free?

Yes. Every feature is free for everyone: the estimate, roadmap, simulator, check-ins, dispute letters, vault and lessons. There’s no card to enter and nothing to upgrade to.

So how do you make money?

Some roadmap steps and articles show partner offers, like a secured card or a credit-builder loan. If you choose one and sign up, the partner may pay us a commission. Offers are always labeled, and they never change the order of your plan.

Is this my real credit score?

No. BuffYourCredit gives an educational estimate from what you enter, using public FICO factor weights. Your bureau scores from Equifax, Experian and TransUnion can differ. Use your free official reports to check the details you enter.

Will using BuffYourCredit hurt my credit?

No. We never pull your credit, so there’s no inquiry of any kind.

Do I need to share my SSN or bank login?

Never. BuffYourCredit doesn’t connect to banks or bureaus. You choose what to enter.

Is BuffYourCredit a credit repair company?

No. We don’t dispute anything on your behalf or promise results. We give you free templates and tools to dispute errors yourself, which you can always do for free directly with the bureaus.

Do you sell my data?

No. Not to lenders, not to advertisers, not to partners. Clicking a partner offer only tells that partner you came from us.
