  1. Note every card’s statement date and balance.
  2. Pay down anything that would report above 30%, ideally 10%.
  3. Confirm autopay is on for every account.
  4. Scan for accounts or inquiries you don’t recognize.
  5. Update your BuffYourCredit check-in so your plan adapts.

You can get free credit reports from all three bureaus at AnnualCreditReport.com, the official site. Rotating through them during the year is an easy way to catch errors early.
